Jim Edwards

Thousands of students have repeated this phrase (coined by educator Keith Moore) in Mr. Edwards’ classrooms. Students memorize the phrase, encouraging one another as the quote it back to him and other students in hallways, businesses or on the street.

 

As class begins, Mr. Edwards a substitute teacher, has students read it verbally. He then explains it and asks the students to repeat it again. However, this time he asks them to point to the person next to them and say, “That was also just about you!”

 

Mr. Edwards tells the students, “This is who you really are! Stop listening to the negative junk. It’ll mess up your life like it did mine! Start saying the truth about yourself instead of listening to and believing the lies.”

 

When time permits, Mr. Edwards sprinkles in magic tricks and true stories with an immediate practical application. Each story includes a powerful and dramatic life lesson to which they can relate as they navigate through life.
